  • Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for the MEXT-Funded Scholarships in Robotics Engineering at Osaka University, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Be a national of a country that maintains diplomatic relations with Japan.
  • Obtain a resident (Student) visa upon enrollment in Japan as a non-Japanese national.
  • Be born on or after April 2, 1990.

For Master’s Program Applicants:

  • Hold a bachelor’s degree from a recognized university in Japan or expect to graduate before enrollment.
  • Have completed sixteen years of formal education or possess equivalent qualifications.
  • Be recognized as academically equivalent to a university graduate by the Graduate School of Engineering Science.

For Doctoral Program Applicants:

  • Hold a master’s degree or be on track to complete their master’s program before enrollment.
  • Have at least two years of research experience and demonstrate research capabilities equivalent to a master’s degree.

TOEFL-iBT: 79

TOEFL-CBT: 213

TOEFL-PBT: 550

IELTS: 6.0

Cultural Contribution:

While studying in Japan, students are encouraged to participate in activities that promote mutual understanding between Japan and their home countries.

Scholarship Benefits

Awardees of the Osaka University MEXT-Funded Scholarships in Robotics Engineering will receive significant support throughout their studies, including:

Monthly Allowance:

¥147,000 for Master’s students

¥148,000 for Doctoral students

Exemptions:

Application fees, entrance examination fees, admission fees, and tuition will be waived for all scholars.

The scholarship duration will cover the time required to complete the respective programs.
